Diagnostic Radiology Consultants has long had a tradition of quality and service in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area in various imaging modalities.  We bring this same commitment to excellence to the Vascular Interventional Services now available to referring physicians and their patients.  With new developing image guided techniques, interventional radiologic procedures have become the choice for patients whose only previous option was surgery.  Procedures that previously required surgery can now be performed with catheter direction and image guidance making it safer and less traumatic for patients.

Many people don't know what an interventional radiologist does.  An interventional radiologist is a physician who has received special training to diagnose and treat conditions using miniaturized catheters and other devices through X-ray or other image guidance.  Diagnostic Radiology Consultants has fellowship-trained interventional radiologists which, in addition to spending an extra year of training, have received an additional board certification (Certificate of Added Qualification) in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

The advantages of interventional radiology are that it is safer, less traumatic, no incision, less painful, shorter hospital stay, quicker recovery time, and decreased patient morbidity.
