DRC Diagnostic Radiology Consultants

Imaging - Departments - Nuclear Medicine

DRC is dedicated to providing quality advanced Nuclear Medicine services to the community.  All DRC radiologists are involved in Nuclear Medicine and integrate Nuclear Medicine studies into interpretation of other imaging modalities.  DRC has a board trained Nuclear Medicine Physician to oversee the quality of the department and help with any case or procedure.  DRC offers all routine nuclear medicine and cardiac studies as well as advanced imaging studies such as monoclonal antibody imaging for cancer detection.  DRC also provides radioactive Iodine-131 therapies for hyperthyroid conditions and thyroid cancer.  In addition, radioactive therapy for cancer that has spread to the bone is available for those in need of pain relief from this condition. Zevalin, a new radioactive drug, is also offered for the treatment of some types of lymphoma.  All therapies are coordinated with the referring physician to preserve continuity of care.  DRC currently provides Nuclear Medicine services at Battlefield Imaging, Chattanooga Outpatient Center, Hutcheson Medical Center and Tennessee Imaging and Vein Center.  DRC also pioneered the use of nuclear molecular imaging in the Chattanooga area by initiating Positron Emission Tomography (PET) in 1999. PET/CT imaging is helping in the detection, staging and treatment of many cancers and neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.  DRC offers PET/CT services at Battlefield Imaging and at Diagnostic PET/CT of Chattanooga.
