Born and raised in Richmond Virginia, Dr. Kemmerer discovered the Chattanooga area while attending Southern Adventist University in the 80s. He received his MD degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California in 1992 and then completed his residency and dual fellowships at Loma Linda University and the University of Florida. He was retained as a staff radiologist and faculty member at LLUMC where he taught and mentored residents in the Vascular and Interventional, Abdominal MRI, CT, and Ultrasound sections.
He has published a book chapter for Radiologic Clinics of North America on CT Imaging Techniques in the Liver and has also been published in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. While in California, his primary interests outside of medicine were mountain biking and surfing. He has transitioned to road cycling since moving back to Chattanooga.
